I know that "Pseudo-Matthew" is just a literary fiction designed to convey that the work in question was attributed to Matthew, but is now believed not to have been written by him after all... but I can't shake the image of a shadowy figure in a rubber Matthew mask taking notes as he watches the infant Jesus play.
